Defibtech Facts

Defibtech was founded in 1999 with the goal of making Automated External defibrillators (AEDs) affordable and easy to use.

The fully featured, affordable Lifeline AED was developed by a team of engineers that
included designers with experience in medical equipment design, and also a background
in high-tech high-volume consumer products. This wide variety of skills and experience
allowed Defibtech to leverage techniques that are not typically known to design groups in
conventional medical device companies.

Defibtech manufactures all of its defibrillators in the United States in a state-of-the-art ISO-9002 certified facility.

The Defibtech AED is designed for the layman and has.received an Excellence in Design Award with features such as:

A bright yellow and black design making it recognizable and easy to find quickly.

Only two buttons -  "on/off" and "shock."

A weight of only 4.2 pounds - easy to carry.

Actually "talks" to the user, giving audible step-by-step instructions on how to give life saving defibrillation.

The industry's longest operational battery life

Defibtech's Automated External Defibrillator Makes Heart Safety More Affordable for Businesses and Community Services

The Defibtech is something that even a non-technical person can easily use.

The affordable price of the Defibtech is making widespread deployment of AEDs a reality-a reality that saves more lives.

AEDs becoming common in public places. Now that prices have come down, communities, schools, sports fitness centers, restaurants and hotels are able to buy one or more in case of emergencies.

"AEDs save lives - it's well documented in medical research literature," said
Defibtech CEO Glenn W. Laub, M.D. "Every day, more and more people are
surviving sudden cardiac arrest due to more and more AEDs in public places.

The number of SCA survivors markedly increased when victims are assisted
by volunteers trained on how to use an AED and perform CPR.

Across the nation, lifesavings from AEDs - as well as fatalities that occur because AEDs are not available - are creating a strong advocacy movement for placing the devices in public areas and workplaces. This advocacy ranges from legislative efforts mandating AED deployment to initiatives that increase sudden cardiac arrest awareness or that raise money for AEDs in schools, churches and other community gathering places.
